Sinopsis
Pablo Fraile Dorado says of this publication: “From east to west, and from north to south, this book is an emotional journey through the most well-known Asturias and also through the parts that don't appear in guidebooks.
Juanjo Arrojo's photographs alone would be enough to support this edition, and they also introduce something new: they are evocative enough that we can put aside our mobile phone cameras and focus on what's important—enjoying the surroundings with our eyes, talking to the people in towns and cities, or savoring the recipes passed down from generation to generation. Because Asturias in Memory is both a reference book and a scrapbook that will rekindle the experiences of every type of traveler. That's why it's designed for those who want to learn more about their homeland, for those visiting, or for those who leave with the idea of returning and continuing to explore the region.”
Juanjo Arrojo (Turón, 1950) is a photographer and a scholar of Asturias. A self-taught photographer, his interest in images led him to begin his photographic journey in the 1970s. By the beginning of the following decade, he was already a recognized professional, and his fascination with Asturias led him to explore the region extensively, studying its light, natural landscapes, people and their trades, and traditions.
